Happy New year, and a small update!

So, as I'm sure you all have been made aware, the New year is coming upon us (and is upon some in the world).
I would like to extend the warmest wishes and good cheer for all of you, and yours in this coming year. Go out, and do something awesome; meet new people; have an adventure; and just live the year to its fullest.

Do any of you have New Years resolutions? If so, share them with me, I would love to hear them! I don't really have any, other than to travel more, do better in school, eat cleaner, and become a more badass version of myself. I guess that is quite a bit now that I look at it! Bring it on!

In other news, I'm still at my parents place. I'll be leaving later this week, and will have a full proper update then. For now, it's just quick.
Christmas was great for me. I got some great things from my loved ones, and (hopefully) gave some great things in return. Christmas makes me happy because it makes so many other people happy. I also went and did some shopping while I've been here, and got some really AWESOME geeky stuff. I have photos of it all on my brand new camera (!!!), but  my parents computer doesn't have a SD drive, so it will have to wait until I get home.
Actually, the only photos I have are on my phone, so forgive the low quality-my phone is a little old.
We also had a pretty big ice storm that shut down half of Toronto (sorry, is my Canadian showing?) and it broke a bunch of trees, and power lines, and all sorts of stuff. A lot of people were without power for days, and it has been super cold (actually cold, not just cold for me and my climatized west coast self). So, BOO to that. It's better now, but still quite cold.
Anyways, more later! <3

Travel time!

Alright guys, I am all packed and ready to be on my way to Toronto, to go see the famjam for the holidays! That means that I might not be as regular as I have been for the next 2 weeks. I'm going to try and update at least once or twice-there are a LOT of cool things that I'll be doing that I will want to share. I'll have my tablet, and my phone and my camera, so, hopefully, I'll actually do an update.

If not, I hope to at least do a video upload over at my youtube channel.

I feel bad that this is a short post, so here are some other photos from Seattle from last post! ^^

Seattle day of out and aboutness!

As mentioned, we went out like tourists on the second day of our trip to Seattle. This was all, basically, planned, so there was no horrible disappointments with this at all.
We weren't really sure what we wanted to do, but decided that all the cool stuff we haven't seen was near the Space needle, so that's where we went!

It was a BEAUTIFUL day out, and we walked around the gardens and area that surrounds the space needle. We didn't actually go up the tower, because our friends apartment (from last post) was actually higher, and had a better view. And I'm cheap like that.

So, instead of the needle, we went to the EMP museum, which is all about music, pop culture and sci-fi. They also had an AWESOME fantasy section that is all limited time and stuff. If you like any of those things mentioned, then the EMP museum is a MUST to see when in Seattle. Seriously, we were there for HOURS. Total nerd for that kind of thing, mind you. I won't/can't post all the pictures, because I took SO many, but here are some of the choice ones from each section of the EMP.

It was a lot of fun, and they even had a student price, which was hella awesome. I love it when places have student prices. I mean, seriously, I pay SO much for tuition and books and stuff, that it's nice to save a little money when I can. Sure, I could just stay inside like a hermit, but, where's the fun in that?

Before leaving Seattle, we went up this one HUGE tower, that had one of those rooftop things with a view. When i remember the name, I'll add it, but, until then, you can just enjoy the same view that I did.

Seattle Vacay and Vanity

So, last time I mentioned that, as part of my birthday extravaganza, I was going to Seattle to see Dir En Grey, who are one of my absolute FAVOURITE Japanese metal bands.

Seriously, they are just fantastic, and I had been looking forward to this show for MONTHS (no, really. We bought the tickets in August, and the show was in November. Literally, months)

And so, I am sure you can surmise my extreme dismay and anger and disappointment at receiving an email half hour before arriving in Seattle that the show was to be postponed to the following night.
As in, not the night I had a hotel for.
And not on a day after which I could come whenever I wanted.

So, you can see the problem. I even made a video of it!
No concert didn't mean that the vacation was cancelled. I mean, we were already there, right? We got a NICE hotel-The Red Lion, which is right downtown near the convention centre, and near Pike street, which is the home of the first Starbucks ever.
Like I said, the hotel was quite nice, and we were even upgraded to a fancy suite, which had a beautiful view of the bay

We also hung out with one of our friends who lives in Seattle. He has been mentioned several times before, and came to the KMFDM show with us from a few posts ago. That picture of the Space needle? Yea, that's from his apartment. Hella swank. We met up with him, and did some catching up, and went to get some food.
Random fact-my husband had never had waffle fries before in his life. He thought they would taste like normal fries. Oh, how wrong he is! To prove this, we took him to Hurricane Grill on 7th street for some sweet delicious waffle fries, and he regrets his former blasphemy.

It was still a super fun night, and we had a good time. The bathroom in the hotel had some of the best lighting I've seen in a long time, so we took the opportunity to take some selfies, and couplies, or whatever selfies are when there's someone else in them.

The next day, we did almost exactly as planned-go see Seattle. I'll save this for the next post, since it is quite long.
BUT, before I leave you lads and ladies, here is some Dir En Grey for you to enjoy! (or not, its Japanese death metal, so, you know. Discretion is required?)

And (one of) my fave songs!

Ma Birfday

Like last year, I managed to have yet another birthday. I'm starting to think these things might be annual? Like, maybe?

Anyways, I kept it pretty low key this year, since it's been a busy semester, and I just don't have any friends to party with, so, why depress myself with that, right?
I had a super yummy dinner and cake with the husband, and got some great gifts from the famjam. my sister sent me money to see KMFDM (see last week) and my parents sent me some yummy candy from Greece. It's almost like they forgot how to send mail, and sent ALL the Superman stamps.

This is so totally a perfect birthday card, right?

Part of my gift from the hubs was to see Dir En Grey (see the next post for more on this) and a night in Seattle for the show. He also got me some small things, because it made him sad, thinking of me having no presents or anything on my birthday. He's such a sweetie. So, he got me a new mug, a hot water bottle zebra, who I named Herbert, and some candy, and foot soaks. It was super great!
