Webcomics-The smackjeeves list

The comics I follow on Smackjeeves is at an almost ridiculous amount. But it's good. Some of them are better than others, but, that is to be expected. Mine own comic is hosted on Smackjeeves, and it is totally on the lower side of things.
But what is awesome about the site is that no one really cares. If its continuous, and well thought out, it will have fans. And that is a special kind of encouragement for comic writers.

So, without further fanfare, here are some comics I read! Show them some love and support-it takes a lot of time to make, and continue a comic and these people deserve some love!

Oh, and this nice thing about SmackJeeves is that there is a small description about the story, and how often it updates right in the page I link, so it should be a great help!

One Rainy Day
Adorable, but also kinda deep

Technicolour London
This one, I bought prints from her, and they are on my wall <3

Kiss Parade
Needs to update more often, so awesome!

Kaito Shuno
This one gets pretty graphic M/M

Lethal Dose
Deals with some pretty heavy stuff

Lost Love
Not a comic in the sense that it has pictures, but it's basically written chapters. Gets real heavy. Like, wow.

Transfusions
Seriously, just awesome. The characters are my current desktop background ^^

Light Romantic
Also needs to update more often

Greyscale
More updates! Amazing art.

Comics

*Wow, I meant to post this before the one about the yaoi, but, apparently I didn't. My bad.*

I read a lot of webcomics, and comics that I can find on the web. Not just superhero stuff either, although I enjoy that too. But sometimes I really like to read stuff that other people, other regular, not professional people write and draw.

I like to read a lot of different genres, from action to gay love, to mad science. As long as its got a decent plot and art, I am all over it. I especially like to read comics from local artists. There are so many internet famous artists out there that get so much attention that sometimes, it's nice to show the "underdog" some appreciation.

So, here are, in no particular order, some comics that I highly suggest!

Girl Genius
All about the mad science and romance. Pretty long, and seems to have no end in sight, which I love. Nice art, fun plot and very regular updates (3/week).

5th and Main
Updates are pretty sporadic, but its great art. So far, I like the plot. It's pretty short so far, so I can't judge for sure, but I am enjoying it thus far.

Honeydew Syndrome
This is seriously one of my faves. It is sort of in the gay section, but it isn't graphic in the least. I know at least one of them lives in Vancouver, since I see her at all the local conventions. Seriously, it's adorable. The art, the story, all of it. Just fabulous.

Two Keys
Made by the same lovely ladies as Honeysyn, but a completely different story. It's about supernatural detectives, and, so far, nothing in the gay area of things. I really enjoy it, although some of the transitions are a bit choppy.

Webcomics-some of the yaois

It should be noted that these are ALL VERY NFSW and I mean, wow. Also not safe for siblings, parents, relatives, etc etc.

Starfighter
This? This one is dirty. This one might lead to very real feelings for the characters, and your ships. It might also being out your inner perv, but in a good way. it might also draw out a new love for eyepatches. The art is fantastic, the plot might be cool, once we get into it more. There is a lot of intrigue, that's for sure. It's dirty though. Don't say I didn't warn you!
Updates-1/week usually

Teahouse
Fancy whores who work in a brothel. Absolutely brilliant art, backgrounds and colouring. Just fantastic. The plot is usually pretty good, but there are parts of it that I'm getting a little sick of of a few of the characters, but, that's my own thing, and a lot of people like them. Just not me. And, even though I don't like the characters, they are well drawn and well developed. But, I am excited for where it's going.
Updates-supposed to be 1/week, but there's been health issues and its been 4 times in the past 3 months.

Khaos Komix
All the feels with this one. And addicting as hell. Luckily, it's just about done, and comes in at 8 chapters, with "mini chapters" in between, which contain all the dirty, sexy stuff. They are not required for the story, but I feel that they add that intimate connection that sorta completes the story. The stories are broken down by the person narrating, and alternates to each person in the relationship, and then to someone in the group. Includes all manner of couples, and really addresses the issues facing lgtb today.
Updates-2/week, Mondays and Thursday

The Less than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal
This one is actually fairly tame, as far as dirty sex scenes go. It is super heavy on plot, and the development of the relationship, which is absolutely fantastic. It's also a realistic look at the lives and relationships of people who are in weird places in life. I don't want to say too much, since it has a well developed, well thought out plot, and is so worth the read.
Updates-Tuesdays, 2 pages

Fall semester-we are done

For better or worse, this semester is finally done. About damn time, too. This is awesome for a lot of reasons, mostly because I have had about 8 hours of sleep in the last 3 days, and I could really use a nap, rather than another 12 hour study session.
I could also use a solid workout at the gym. Which I will be doing shortly. This will be one of my last workouts at the YMCA because I cancelled my membership.

Why, you might ask?

Well, today is special for more than just the end of finals. It's also my last day at my current college. I am transferring to SFU for next semester, and that university has it's own gym. It does mean that I'll be working out at home for the next few weeks, but I got some awesome workout already planned out.

This is also the last day that I am an English major. I start my new major in Spring, and, I, for one, and looking forward to it.

But, after I get a few solid hours of sleep, of course.

This also gives me time to get all my projects started and stuff. I am starting some really cool stuff soon, and, when I have more to say, I'll make a post, but for now, just know that awesness is afoot.
I have also got myself a new artist for my comic. I just don't have the time, or the artistic talent to do it, and my readers deserve better. The girl that I'm going to be working with is awesome. She sent me a few sketches and, guys, this will be great! I am super excited.
I've also been in talks with a few other artists for a few more comics. I can't draw for anything, but, man, I can write. I actually find it hard to stop creating stories. It takes a bit of time to finish them all, but I have loads of them. Hopefully one of them becomes super awesome, and I can go to comic cons as a guest. Wishful thinking, I know.

Now, for that gym and then sleep I so desperately need. Enjoy this video if you are feeling down, or need a quick fix for adorablness.

The gift of life

I may have mentioned this before, but, I will mention it again.
I am not terribly fond of people, as a species. We are rude, inconsiderate dickbags, with an insatiable thirst for the destruction of the entire planet, in order to feed our greed and avarice.

My biggest fear is that I will not get to see so many animal species because they will become extinct before I get to see them.

That thought terrifies me more than anything else. How horrible are we, that we can't even go a few months without killing off something that did nothing to us. We ruin what we can in order to appease outdated tradition, or false medicine, and false gods.

To try and do what I can, while being a broke-ass student with almost no time, I have been asking people to make donations to WWF on my behalf.

I was lucky to get one of these donations from my parents for my birthday. What is really awesome about making donations is that you get a little plushy and a certificate of symbolically adopting an endangered species.

It's amazing to be able to help a species at risk, and also get a cute cuddly toy to go with it. Something for nothing, and all that. Some people need to feel rewarded for doing the right thing, and this should help with that undying greed, while still helping something that needs as much help as it can get.

They also come with an information booklet about the specific species that was adopted. It includes information about its habitat; why they are becoming extinct; their feeding/mating habits, and what you can do to help.

And what is more important is the help that the species receives, which is worth so much more-the chance to live.

So, for this holiday season, adopt an at risk species for someone you love. Give the gift of a life.

Meet me new Snow Leopard, named Frost. The first in my, hopefully, large collection of endangered species.

Chinatown Wanderings

While I still have 2 more exams to study for, I decided to take the day off (or most of the day off) and take a nice walk with my man to Vancouver's Chinatown. It's one of the biggest outside of China, which is kinda cool, and, having been to China now, I feel that it's pretty damn authentic.

I tried to get my hair super cute for the adventure, since it's all freshly shaved, but, man, short hair is a BITCH to curl.

We wandered around, did a bit of shopping, and went to the botanical gardens. I love the gardens when the sun is setting, which is some obscenely early time here in Canada. I kinda miss not feeling like I need to go to bed at 5:00pm. Like, seriously.

I finally managed to fine some vegetarian friendly kimchi (김치) for some kimchi bokembop. (김치보금밥) which is one of the meals that I miss the most from Korea. It is spicy kimchi, with vegetables in a rice, with a sunny-side up egg on top. It is delightful, and really warming and filling, especially on a cold night. Which today is. I THINK it might be the coldest day we've had yet here in Vancity. And, really, it isn't much to complain about, since it is 5C (41F), and much of Canada is much colder than that. It IS Winter, after all.

And now, some photos of the fantastic-and cold- gardens!

I can have a life!

Sort of at least. For a little bit.
Classes are finally done, and there are only exams-and only 3 of them-left of the semester.

Then I am off for a few weeks, before transferring schools, and starting my new major. About time, right? I am also taking a week long trip back to Ontario to see the famjam, and some friends. Mostly the fam.

My big plans for my free time?

Blog, comic, draw, read, spend some quality time with the hubs.

Sounds pretty awesome, right?

Oh, and other news? I got me an instagram, follow and enjoy! http://instagram.com/rozwyn/
