Heading out to the crazy train

No, really. I'm leaving for a vacation in a few days, after I finish my last final exam. I'm super excited, because we (the hubs and I) are headed to San Francisco via train, to meet up with one of my fabulous friends from Korea, who lives in Texas (if you read my blog regularly, she was the one who came to the Anime evolution last year)

And, the thing is, we're taking a train there! It is going to be a sorta long, but I really like taking trains. When I was young, my family went on a vacation to San Francisco, and we took the train. It was a LOT longer, since we traveled from Toronto, but it was still fun. I think this time will also be fun. It was also hella cheaper than flying, or taking a bus.

We have already packed our week pretty full. I don't want to spill all the amazing details until I've done them, and have photos for you lovely squidlings, but, just know that you guys are in for an awesome treat!

I'm going to try and queue up some posts before I leave, so there are semi-regular updates while I'm gone, but, I still have an exam to study for. I'll do my best!

Fall semester-we are done

For better or worse, this semester is finally done. About damn time, too. This is awesome for a lot of reasons, mostly because I have had about 8 hours of sleep in the last 3 days, and I could really use a nap, rather than another 12 hour study session.
I could also use a solid workout at the gym. Which I will be doing shortly. This will be one of my last workouts at the YMCA because I cancelled my membership.

Why, you might ask?

Well, today is special for more than just the end of finals. It's also my last day at my current college. I am transferring to SFU for next semester, and that university has it's own gym. It does mean that I'll be working out at home for the next few weeks, but I got some awesome workout already planned out.

This is also the last day that I am an English major. I start my new major in Spring, and, I, for one, and looking forward to it.

But, after I get a few solid hours of sleep, of course.

This also gives me time to get all my projects started and stuff. I am starting some really cool stuff soon, and, when I have more to say, I'll make a post, but for now, just know that awesness is afoot.
I have also got myself a new artist for my comic. I just don't have the time, or the artistic talent to do it, and my readers deserve better. The girl that I'm going to be working with is awesome. She sent me a few sketches and, guys, this will be great! I am super excited.
I've also been in talks with a few other artists for a few more comics. I can't draw for anything, but, man, I can write. I actually find it hard to stop creating stories. It takes a bit of time to finish them all, but I have loads of them. Hopefully one of them becomes super awesome, and I can go to comic cons as a guest. Wishful thinking, I know.

Now, for that gym and then sleep I so desperately need. Enjoy this video if you are feeling down, or need a quick fix for adorablness.

I can have a life!

Sort of at least. For a little bit.
Classes are finally done, and there are only exams-and only 3 of them-left of the semester.

Then I am off for a few weeks, before transferring schools, and starting my new major. About time, right? I am also taking a week long trip back to Ontario to see the famjam, and some friends. Mostly the fam.

My big plans for my free time?

Blog, comic, draw, read, spend some quality time with the hubs.

Sounds pretty awesome, right?

Oh, and other news? I got me an instagram, follow and enjoy! http://instagram.com/rozwyn/

Closing Ceremony

I think I've mentioned this before, but part of the program at Soonchunhyang (yup-back to Korea for this post, sorry it's all out of order!) is to attend the closing ceremony. This is where the staff thank everyone, announce some awards, and wish everyone well during the coming two month holiday.

Mostly, we got because A. we have to, since its mandatory, and B. for the free food.

I went for those reasons, but because I also won an award! Go me! Apparently, my exchange Andy and I had never missed a meeting! As such, we won the Best Exchange Pair award. In truth, he was one of my favourite exchanges-we talked about more than just cultural differences. We talked about books, weird phrases in English, and all the kinds of fruit he has never tried. I also taught him about sarcasm. He caught on really quick!
Andy and I are to the right of the pic. The middle pair were also in my list of favourite people at SCH. Bernice, from Vancouver, and Beatrice (chae Hee), who was in my suite. The other international, Garrett, was another of those favourite people!

The ceremony is also an excuse to hang out with friends, before everyone gets too busy with exams, packing, and moving out.

I mentioned that there's a lot of people I;m going to miss? This is one of them. She was my international suitemate, this second semester, and was also at SCH for my first semester. She's still there right now, and she better miss me! We had a lot of fun together, and I miss her more than I thought I would. She was pretty chronic sick during the semester, so we didn't get to go out as much as I'd have liked, but, there's always over here in North America!
And this is the man and his roommate. I didn't get any pics with my roommate. I didn't see her that often.
I didn't get many pictures with a lot of people, since I was usually the one who was taking the pictures. But there are many people that I miss. Some more than others-especially for the crew in second semester. Later this week, one of my faves is coming up from Texas to visit, so we can go to the Anime Revolution. Otaku fun ftw!

June is hella busy

This is my last month in Korea, and I am going to make the most out of it! Or at least, as much as my budget can handle. That's the problem with being a "mature student"-you have to pay for everything yourself. Not just here in Korea, but also when I go back to Canada.
There are, of course, some things here that I will not get to see or do, but time and money prevent them. I'll come back to Korea at some point-I've come too far in learning the language to not use it again.

So, here is the plans for the next (stupid) busy month!

June 9-Tattoo appointment.
June 18-20-6 exams/packing
June 21-25-Vietnam trip (?!?! I know, right?)
June 26-Move out of SCH
June 28-World Expo in Yeosu
June 30-July 2-Busan
July 3-Seoul
July 4-Fly to Canada.
July 4-?-Sleep like the dead.

The only place I am sad I don't get to visit in Korea is Jeju Island. But, it is SO expensive to get to, and then expensive to be at. It's sad, but it is also necessary. Oh well, next time!

This all said, if my updates-both here and at my comic-are spotty, please forgive me! I'll do my best!

The end is near

‎"But easy is for the weak. You want to become strong. Choose the difficult path and overcome any obstacle. That is how you get stronger and it's the only way to achieve something big."

And so begins the weeks for finals. Exams and meetings and papers and applications...all due in the coming two weeks. It's hectic, and the nervous energy of the school is palpable in the air.

There is a lot going on, but its going to all be fine. What's a little sleep lost when life is there to be enjoyed to its fullest, right? Besides, once everyone leaves, I will be sad that I didn't get to do everything that I had wanted to with them.
So, lose a little sleep, but get everything done. It's a fair trade off.
