first anime: Sailor Moon, but, I hadn't realized what anime was, exactly. So, the movie Perfect Blue, or Akira, I think. I don't remember which came first. 

reading or writing: Both. Forever.

celebrity crush: I have 2 right now: Jennifer Lawrence and Lupita N'yongo.

3 things you like about yourself: I'm pretty fond of my eye colour. My boobs are great. I love my sense of humor. BONUS!! I love my tattoos. 

Down, and Anime Evolution

I have been a little down lately. Its mostly (all) due to the weather. I want summer, goddammit! I miss the sunshine, and warmth on my skin...I think I'm vitamin D deficient by now.

Pretty sure that Vancouver is now the city that summer forgot.

And its pissing me off. Its been rain for weeks, and fairly chilly out. I have all these new summer clothes, and time off from school and work (kinda) and just want to walk in the sun, or lay at the beach.
But, alas, this is not to be.

Anyways.

I'll be heading to Anime Evolution this Friday, to meet the lovely La Carmina again. We might actually get some photos together this time!

If you are in the area, come check out the con! It's quite cheap ($30 for the day) and there is a TONNE of stuff to do, and to see. It will be worth your time!

Webcomics-The smackjeeves list

The comics I follow on Smackjeeves is at an almost ridiculous amount. But it's good. Some of them are better than others, but, that is to be expected. Mine own comic is hosted on Smackjeeves, and it is totally on the lower side of things.
But what is awesome about the site is that no one really cares. If its continuous, and well thought out, it will have fans. And that is a special kind of encouragement for comic writers.

So, without further fanfare, here are some comics I read! Show them some love and support-it takes a lot of time to make, and continue a comic and these people deserve some love!

Oh, and this nice thing about SmackJeeves is that there is a small description about the story, and how often it updates right in the page I link, so it should be a great help!

Starfighter
This? This one is dirty. This one might lead to very real feelings for the characters, and your ships. It might also being out your inner perv, but in a good way. it might also draw out a new love for eyepatches. The art is fantastic, the plot might be cool, once we get into it more. There is a lot of intrigue, that's for sure. It's dirty though. Don't say I didn't warn you!

Teahouse
Fancy whores who work in a brothel. Absolutely brilliant art, backgrounds and colouring. Just fantastic. The plot is usually pretty good, but there are parts of it that I'm getting a little sick of of a few of the characters, but, that's my own thing, and a lot of people like them. Just not me. And, even though I don't like the characters, they are well drawn and well developed. But, I am excited for where it's going.
Updates-supposed to be 1/week, but there's been health issues and its been 4 times in the past 3 months.

Khaos Komix
All the feels with this one. And addicting as hell. Luckily, it's just about done, and comes in at 8 chapters, with "mini chapters" in between, which contain all the dirty, sexy stuff. They are not required for the story, but I feel that they add that intimate connection that sorta completes the story. The stories are broken down by the person narrating, and alternates to each person in the relationship, and then to someone in the group. Includes all manner of couples, and really addresses the issues facing lgtb today.
Updates-2/week, Mondays and Thursday

The Less than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal
This one is actually fairly tame, as far as dirty sex scenes go. It is super heavy on plot, and the development of the relationship, which is absolutely fantastic. It's also a realistic look at the lives and relationships of people who are in weird places in life. I don't want to say too much, since it has a well developed, well thought out plot, and is so worth the read.

Happy Birthday to me, Part deux

To jump right in

Japan

Seriously, lifelong dream accomplished right here. Going to Japan has been on my list of things I wanted to do ever since I discovered anime and manga (it was early in life, let me assure you). Not only did I get to visit Japan, but I got to go to, what, 7 different cities? I got to see so many things, experience so much, and-perhaps more importantly-reconnect with some friends that I hadn't seen in a LONG time. Some things are important, and those things, no matter how distant, should be kept close.

Vietnam

Vietnam was never in my list of places to go, but, the opportunity presented itself, and I am not the kind of person who will turn down travel. Ever. Out of all my adventures this past year, I think this one has the biggest list of 'bad' against it. That said though, having this unique experience was eye opening and well worth it-despite the down sides. Seeing a war torn, 3rd world country is something that everyone should do. It has a profound effect on the psyche. 

2 year anniversary with the hubs

I feel like this one is sort of self-explanatory. How could I not be excited about being married for 2 years, without there being any violence or straight up murder? I never thought I'd get married in the first place. To have it last this long is sort of a surprise. A pleasant one, yes, but a surprise nonetheless. 

World Expo

Another one of those once-in-a-lifetime things that I got to do. Since the expo is only held every few years, and never in the same country consecutively  the fact that I was in the right place at the right time is just amazing. I don't think this will be my last expo though, since there is still YEARS left for me to travel. Who knows when this will come up again though, but that chance is still there. It had its bad points, but it was still a unique experience to be able to have some part in. 

Acceptance into SFU

As I mentioned in the 10 things you likely didn't know about me post, I was not really great with that whole education thing when I was younger. It took me a while to get the swing of things, what with this being my 3rd stint in post secondary education. But, my acceptance into SFU (Simon Fraser University NOT San Francisco University) proves to me that I have grown into my intelligence. I am not a stupid person-I'm just full of hate and rage and, sometimes, laziness. But acceptance into university on my own merits, on my own terms, it's something to be proud of.

And in this vein-being asked to have an editing part-hell, even being allowed to read-a now (at the time, soon to be) published novel...well now. If that isn't making it, i don't know what is. The fact that it was an awesome book by one of my favourite people just made it that much better.
